Once again, Tyra awarded the title to the model who wanted it the most. It’s been predictable since the fiasco with Cycle 1 winner, Adrianne Curry. I like Teyona, but I really disagree that she should have won Cycle 12.

Teyona’s not the most naturally gorgeous girl, but I think her bizarre features may actually work really well in photos. It’s almost like she had a face lift without actually having a face lift.

Allison’s face is absolutely magical. It looks like she stepped out of an anime and on to the catwalk. She showed myrid facial expressions from intense to surprised to sexy and even commercial. There’s nothing she can’t do, and there’s no makeup, hair or wardrobe that could overwhelm her exaggerated features.

Allison has to work a bit on her walk and her presence, but I really wish that Tyra had given Allison a chance given that Teyona stumbled at the finish line. Oh well . . . I think it basically came down to Teyona wanting it more. Ever since Cycle 1′s winner, Adrianne Curry, went off the deep end, Tyra has been giving the title to the model who wants it most, often to the chagrin of fans.

Three words Tyra: “Get. Over. It.” Forget about Cycle 1, and give the title to the best model.

Wow, Allison can do commercial too! Allison has been a master chameleon this season, and this week is no exception. I’m not sure I really like the angle of her face in this photo, but Tyra said that there were tons of photos to choose from, so I’ll have to believe her. I would have loved to see the reel from this photoshoot. Still, though, Allison once again looks smoking hot and can really sell product with that wonderful face of hers.

On its own, though, the photo is still quite good. Allison blends in well with the family and gives off a quirky feel.

The first thing that popped out about Allison to me was of course her big eyes. I think if she can learn her proper angles, she can do really well in the industry. With eyes as large as hers, she does not need to do this. I’m excited to see how she grows, but she definitely has potential.

Natalie’s face looks absolutely huge in this photo, and I’m not sure there’s much she can do about it. I like the action in this photo, but I’m starting to lose hope in Natalie’s potential as a print model.

Natalie has an interesting look. At first glance, she looks like a model, though her facial structure is a little wide, and I’m not sure how that will translate to photos. I like Natalie’s general attitude in this photo. It’s a little raw but shows that she has some potential.

This photo doesn’t really work. London’s head is tilted a little too high and her facial expression is much too exaggerated. London’s figure is totally out of whack as she has gained probably 20 pounds since the start of the competition. That in and of itself isn’t horrible, but London should not have posed straight on to push the point even more. Maybe a three-quarters view of the body would have helped hide some of the extra weight.

London has a fantastic face for beauty shots. The closer you get, the better she looks. London does a great job in this photo, but she probably had the potential to deliver a five-star photo because of her features. Still, I can’t fault her too much because this photo is still exquisite.

Ignore Allison for a moment, and this photo is absolutely magical. Wardrobe and makeup definitely went the extra mile this week. The backdrop is also amazing as is the framing of this photo. London’s face looks heavenly from this angle.

Hmm, I’m not too sure about London’s makeover. She does have a crazy strong face, so she’ll be able to take any hair, but did Tyra really have to go with this totally random style? I’m sure London will learn to work the hair well. At least it’s a short hairdo, which is what I would have wanted for sure for someone with London’s bone structure.

Tahlia is another in-between model, too big for runway, too small for full-figured modeling. That said, she’s not so far off that she couldn’t gain a little bit of weight if she really wants to take modeling seriously. I like her face, and I think she’ll photograph really well.

Ouch, what a terrible pose. I know it’s difficult to light yourself and not look stiff, but how does Kortnie manage to look stiff and still fail to light half of her own face. On top of that, her chest is puffed too far forward and her one leg seems to be randomly placed on debris.

Kortnie does a good job of capturing the mood of the photoshoot. She looks joyful and cute, though I’m not too sure about her one-leg-up pose. The background models look fantastic and add an extra layer of depth to the photo, especially the model leaning on the side.

Kortnie is definitely one of those sympathy contestants. There is no way that Kortnie has a place in the actual modeling industry. She is too big to be a runway model and too small to be a full-figured model. On top of that, she is obviously obsessed with tanning, which is a big no-no in modeling. I wish it was a big no-no in real life too (can you tell I don’t like tanning?). This photo is absolute mess. The pose, the hair, the clothing, ouch ouch ouch.

Overall, it was a fun episode, and I enjoyed that we got to see more of New York due to the theme of the photoshoot: famous areas of New York. I wasn’t too sad to see Nijah go home. She’s extremely pretty, but she’s been boring me to death the last couple of weeks.

Aminat and Fo

Aminat and Fo, America’s Next Top Model Cycle 12 Episode 4 ANTM

Aminat and Fo are portraying Wall Street. It’s interesting that there are two models in each photo. They both looked like they were having fun.

Damn, the final photo looks great. It’s amazing that Fo is holding on to a laptop and a cell phone while looking fierce. Aminat’s bone structure really came through. This is definitely my favourite photo of the bunch.

Kortnie and Nijah

Kortnie and Nijah, America’s Next Top Model Cycle 12 Episode 4 ANTM

Kortnie and Nijah are in Soho, portraying an artist and her muse. Nijah is really boring me with her poses, but I can’t get over Kortnie’s tan.

The final photo came out even worse than I thought it would. Nijah got burned really bad by the judges for her poor performance. Kortnie didn’t do much better but Nijah was so bad that the judges didn’t even bother to mention Kortnie much at all.

Celia and Sandra

Celia and Sandra, America’s Next Top Model Cycle 12 Episode 4 ANTM

Celia and Sandra are portraying fabulous nannies who ignore their babies.

The photo looks really high fashion. It doesn’t look like nannies at all, but the photo is hot. The clothes look fabulous. I think both models did equally well, but the judges really liked Sandra’s performance better than Celia’s. I think the big difference is that Sandra is taller and commanded more of the photo.

This is probably the best looking photo in the group, but I have to deduct a point because the models didn’t portray nannies at all.

Allison and London

Allison and London, America’s Next Top Model Cycle 12 Episode 4 ANTM

Allison and London are portraying 5th Avenue socialites. London is convincing as a bitch but Allison seemingly thought too hard about it.

The photo did not work at all. There is no emotion coming through the photo. London somewhat comes off as a bitch in the photo, but Allison comes off as boring and dead.

Natalie, Teyona and Tahlia, America’s Next Top Model Cycle 12 Episode 4 ANTM

Tahlia, Natalie and Teyona portray tourists in Times Square. Thank goodness that Tahlia got over her insecure phase.

Tahlia stole the photo with her real joy. Teyona’s mouth is way too wide and Natalie looks like a B actress. Overall the photo is good to look at, but there are too many flaws to make this a great photo.
