Laurie Kilmartin, Last Comic Standing 2010, Season 7, on NBC

Monday, July 12 Episode: Top 10, Last Comic Standing Season 7

Laurie Kilmartin had a good set of material and performed it well. Her strength is definitely her writing and her general likability. It’s almost like she is someone you already know. The crowd responded well to her material about her ex-boyfriend and his new illiterate mistress. The material about her three-year-old son watching her on the toilet was also funny. Laurie ended well with a call-back to the “batch” joke.

Laurie wore a great purple dress and nice accessories. I’m not so sure about the black pants, but I suppose it’s better to look good on your top half for the television close-ups.

Monday, July 19 Episode: Top 7, Last Comic Standing Season 7

Unfortunately for Laurie, her journey came to an end on tonight’s episode, so we didn’t get to see her perform. I’m definitely happy for her, though, because making it into the Top 10 will be great for her career. She’s very likable and will have a great future with corporate comedy, as I don’t see how she could possibly offend anyone even if she tried. Her jokes are relatable to a large audience.
